George A. Romero is the creator and master of the zombie genre, we know this as a fact one cannot refute, and while his touch can indeed be seen in Survival of the Dead, he feels at times completely uninspired, and this one turns out to be one of his weakest efforts to date, though this is a guy who’s blasting with new ideas on how to kill them zombies, and that’s always fun to watch.

Unfortunately, though, that’s just about the only new thing shown in Survival of the Dead, everything just seems rehashed material by Romero, and yeah, he’s done countless of these low-cost high-gore films, so he’s bound to recycle stuff from them, but this one just feels as though he recycled just fill stuff in and not because it would make it look cooler, but I don’t care much, that’s why I won’t go on for long about Survival of the Dead I’ll just say that Mr. Romero, just as he revived the genre some decades ago should do something new to it again, because this is starting to seem too familiar, kind of like Freddy Krueger in his last outing, which I reviewed a while ago, it’s getting to the point in which we like these zombies so much they stop being scary, and that just defies the notion of making these films.
