[Trailer] – The Words

17 May

I’m so unsure about what to make of this film. On one hand you have a pretty damn solid cast and a premise that could potentially make for a nice enough intellectual thriller. But then the trailer just makes it seem like something I don’t really want to watch at all (I blame that song choice at the end). Anyways, make up your mind yourself by watching the trailer for The Words after the cut.

The story focusses on a struggling writer who’s willing to do anything to be recognized. And then he stumbles across a lost manuscript that’s pretty extraordinary and decides to publish it, passing off the book as his own, and he finally gets all the praise in the world thrown at him. Except the past comes back to haunt him as the manuscript’s original writer comes into his life.

Written and directed by Brian Klugman and Lee Sternthal; starring Bradley Cooper, Olivia Wilde, Zoe Saldana, Jeremy Irons, Ben Barnes, Dennis Quaid, J.K. Simmons and John Hannah. The Words opens September 21.
