[Trailer] – Arbitrage

26 Jun

Watch the first trailer for Arbitrage, which premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival, after the cut.

It’s a thriller that centers on a hedge-fund magnate played by Richard Gere who seems to have it all in life, but who’s actually way over his head, trying to sell his empire before the fraud he’s involved in is revealed. All the while, he’s not only focussed on not having his wife and daughter find out, but having an affair with an art dealer. Then he makes an error that leaves him up in the air, scrambling for help, and you can just tell things get funner after that.

From the reviews at Sundance, Mr. Gere is apparently pretty great in this one, which this trailer seems to confirm, and the whole film really does look like a really engaging thriller that will probably be a really fun time, not to mention Brit Marling is here, one of my favorite up-and-coming actresses. So, yeah, this looks good.

Written and directed by Nicholas Jarecki; starring Richard Gere, Susan Sarandon, Brit Marling, Nate Parker, Laetitia Casta and Tim Roth. Arbitrage opens September 14.
