[Trailer] – The Sessions

28 Jun

At this year’s Sundance Film Festival a film called The Surrogate got some really great buzz, and Oscar talk surrounding the lead performance from John Hawkes. The film then changed its name to Six Sessions, and now it’s just The Sessions, and a trailer has just been released, which you can watch after the cut.

The film tells the real-life story of poet Mark O’Brien, who’s been stuck in an iron lung for quite some time after polio struck him as a child. And, as he’s nearing 40, he decides it’s time to lose his virginity, and he enlists a professional sexual surrogate to help him out. The cast is stellar, and the reviews from Sundance all say this one’s really worth watching, so I’m definitely quite excited.

Written and directed by Ben Lewin; starring John Hawkes, Helen Hunt and William H. Macy. The Sessions opens October 26.
